
2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival – Toyota Park, Chicago, IL
Eric Clapton’s day-long ‘Guitar Festival’ featured some of the greatest musicians and artists in the music industry. Joined by John Mayer, B.B. King, Vince Gill, and many others, Clapton’s sold-out festival was geared towards bringing awareness and support to the Crossroads Center, Antigua, a nonprofit addiction treatment facility, founded by Clapton.
This was the third festival Clapton’s organized and like previous years, the crowd was treated to stunning guitar solos by seasoned musicians as well as unique and entertaining performance combination’s. Artists of different generations and styles joined together on stage, giving the crowd a simultaneous concert and jam session – an experience only this Crossroads could deliver.
The stage at Toyota Park was equipped with Clair i-5 and i-5b line arrays. Clair BT-218 subs and i-3s provided additional sound reinforcement for the park. The 11-hour marathon rang on into the night, the crowd remained standing and mesmerized by the passionate guitar playing. Before Clapton’s set closed the festival, he hinted to a fourth Crossroads Guitar Festival, leaving the crowd and fans of the festival anxious and hopeful of a return.
