Election Night Backstage Pass Some termed it “Obama-palooza”, others called it the “Election Night Party”. Either way, Chicago’s Grant Park hosted yet another festival-sized event on the evening of November 4th, 2008. Just after midnight, the new President-Elect Barack Obama accompanied by his family delivered his globally-telecast victory speech to the waiting Nation in front of over 300,000 people. Each inspirational word was heard clearly and precisely thanks to the expertise of CLAIR Chicago, hired to handle all aspects of sound reinforcement for this special event. C3 Presents, the live production company that also handles Lollapalooza with CLAIR Chicago, was hired to oversee the event, and knew they could count on the CLAIR team to pull through at a moment’s notice. The technical challenges included a large main stage and podium with over 700 press feeds and multiple delay towers, and the 16 technical staff of the CLAIR team helped make the event a complete success.
