• Designed and installed a new center field sound system that covers entire stadium
• Installed a new center field canopy fill sound system
• Implemented a new sound system in center field club spaces, restrooms, gate, and plaza space
• Established a control room front end and an 8CH-wireless microphone package
• Provided crowd noise enhancement during their 2020 run to become the World Series champs
The city of Los Angeles seismic requirements exceeds the state of California requirements resulting in the Clair Global Integration (CGI) engineering and fabrication team coordinating closely with the city during every step of design and fabrication. This included city engineers inspecting the fabrication of the custom mounts, with follow up inspections at time of delivery, and again after the permanent sound system was installed in center field. In addition to meeting both the state and city’s mandates, the standard rigging frames used for touring would not meet highly-detailed code for permanent installation.
Our engineering team had to redesign the structure to meet code, bridging the loudspeakers internal support to the rigged exoskeleton of the permanent mount. Working with a team of audio engineers in France, we designed a custom bracket that would replace the standard array frame. Once the physical design was completed, the final challenge was calibrating the unique subwoofer array, which was designed to not only provide concert sound impact to the fans, but also steering the low frequency away from nearby neighborhoods. Success! Thanks to our strong partnership with the stadium’s in-house engineering team and an all-hands-on-deck effort to create and implement a custom design that met and exceeded the applicable laws California and LA County have in place, we were able to successfully deliver the excitement of professional concert sound to the Major League Baseball fan experience at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium.
