This intensive Clair Global Integration (CGI) project called for new construction designed to lay the groundwork for Nike’s newly planned campus expansion. The biggest project challenge we faced was the Covid-19 pandemic. As it did for most, this world event put several activities on hold, but our team was well-prepared with necessary equipment for both projects prior to the pandemic. New distancing and masking restrictions put a damper on progress, but since Nike had people working remotely, we were able to gain access to areas that were supposed to be immediately occupied but were not. This allowed us time to complete critical work without having to juggle occupancy schedules.
The Nike team was very responsive in assisting CGI with any internal logistical issues, working very closely with the us through numerous changes and configurations. It’s always a pleasure when a client acts as a focused project partner, making even simple room sign-off approvals an easy affair. To mark progress, a centrally accessible spreadsheet was kept, which we used to mark room completions while a Nike representative would verify the room and its functionality. This spreadsheet was also visible to all other project partner teams directly involved so that everyone could monitor progress without unnecessary update meetings.
