Conceptualized during the 1920s as the stage began to draw in huge audiences, Playhouse Square today is a theater district in Cleveland, Ohio, the largest performing arts center in the US, outside of New York City’s Broadway.
Chief Creatologist Danny Barnycz of Barnycz Group was engaged to conceive a design solution that would bring the tradition of the theater out of the buildings and into the streets, complimenting the architecture and translating the elegance of the stage to modern LED displays.
To ensure a seamless experience of reinforcing the district's theatrical majesty before visitors even step foot inside a theater, CGI was drafted in to build a video control room that offers flexibility and reliability, driving the video displays with state-of-the-art equipment. Working across the design development and construction documents phase, CGI’s specialism in entertainment programming secured the outdoor video network control to great success.
